How to group the month

Is it only available in PowerPivot but not in Pivot Table?

It is available to group by months in a normal pivot table.

Once you have your dates set up as column labels in a PivotTable, right click one of the dates and choose Group --> Months --> OK

Your suggestion is changing the source data formation. But I cannot change it and I only want to connect the original source excel file as external data.
Copying to local table then modify the data is impossible for my case.

You are going to have to change it somehow, you have no choice. Change it or give up.
