how to display name in data validation list and save id to database

Hello
Every one
We are using data validation list to display name of country our data base table structure is something like this below
Country ID
Country –name
Description

Now we are displaying country name in data validation list .but we want to save Country ID in different table of our database
We are using excel 2010, macro, vba

Can you please provide some reference or code so that I can proceed forward
