Hi, really hope someone can help me with this.

I have a pivot table that is showing locations, and number of tasks over a time period. I have a vlookup table for these locations wich also has a designation. I want to use conditional formating for the locations, making them a particular colour IF the disignation from the VLookup table contains a particular entry. I can get this to work, if the Vlookup table is on the same sheet as teh pivot table, but it isn't. Anyone any ideas on what Ineed to do to use the output from a Vlookup (on a different sheet) for conditional formating in a pivot table.

Perhaps look t https://www.auditexcel.co.za/blog/conditional-formatting-based-on-another-sheet/
If this is not it please post a sample workbook ( no pics please) with some data and manually added expected results
In trying to create a test spreadsheet I discoverd what my problem was. You can't simply use table names in a Vlookup for conditional formatting. And i can't use a range as the lookup table changtes size fairly regularly. But I also found the soloution which is to use INDIRECT("tablename") instead of just the table name. This works.
