Hi there,

I have found a sudden issue with hyperlinks in some documents. For some reason the hyperlink has changed and no longer looks in the correct place for the document it was set up to open. There have been no changes to the document location or filename so it is not that. I don't even know the filepath of the location that it is now saying...
C:\Users\j.vaughton\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\Purchase Invoices\2023\2023 - January to end June\7253 - Abott.pdf

See below screenshot.

The hyperlink had been set up to look at a document on a shared drive...
Z:\Contracts Cost Books\Purchase Invoices\2023\2023 - January to end June\7253 - Abott.pdf

This error seems to have occurred in the last month or so, or at least that is when it has been found, even though the hyperlink was added last year. But these documents are used on a regular basis so I am sure it has been identified close to the time that the issue has occurred. I am desperate for help here as I really do not want to have to go through and edit each hyperlink individually as that one is linking to 7253 and we are currently back round to 1127. That is a lot of manual work!

Bizarrely there are hyperlinks on an earlier file that are linking to documents later than 7253 and they appear to be fine. Could something have happened while I have been working on the file in the screenshot that has made all the hyperlinks within that file corrupt?

ANY help would be most appreciated.

Are you j.vaughton? If so, have you accidentally moved the file to your own machine? Or has that person moved it?

I am j.vaughton and no, the file is on the shared drive, not on my machine.

But the URL says it's on drive C - that's your local drive. Which is why I am asking the question.

The hyperlink is coming up as saying the document is on the C drive but it is in fact on the Z shared drive. I could not even access the filepath that it is stating when I tried to look for the document manually. Nobody has any ideas how this has happened. I am currently trudging my way through the document manually amending all the corrupt hyperlinks. Thank you for replying though.
